|"Manna for Ministry" Communication - FEBRUARY 2003|
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
"We always thank God for ALL of you, mentioning you in our prayers. We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by FAITH, your labor prompted by LOVE and your endurance inspired by HOPE in our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Thess. 2-3)
Thank you, everyone, for your commitment to our Region and vision. In a newsletter from Rick Warren, he says: "We become whatever we are committed to - our commitments define us. Just as a great commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission will grow a great church (ministry) I believe it is also the way to grow a great Christian."
Friends, these are good words for us to remember!
We see in the Old Testament Book of Ezra that it is not "personal achievement", but "personal commitment" to live for God that is important. Achievements are simply examples of what God can do through our lives. The most effective leaders in the Bible had little awareness of the impact that their lives had on others. Our God is in the business of working through His people to accomplish seemingly impossible tasks and He specializes in shaping people with personality characteristics, experiences and training that prepares them for His purpose!
Today, if you are overwhelmed by an assignment or task that lies before you, remember God's purpose for your life and His "special purpose" which He wants to accomplish through YOU (your partnership with EHC Anglo Africa and joining hands with us in fulfilling the Great Commission).
Dr Bruce Wilkinson has a daily reading entitled "WHO, ME?" We are sure that it will encourage and inspire you today.
Please print out the attachment and be blessed when you read about "who am I that I should go?" and "who am I that I should lead?" This would certainly encourage your pioneer missionary team and the leaders you work with.
And I close with the words of David Livingstone - "I will go anywhere provided it is forward".
All for now,
Hennie Hanekom and the Regional Team
