"Manna for Ministry" Communication - May 2002

Dear Friends,

I always enjoy this time of the month, when I have an opportunity to 'chat' with you electronically! I felt led to remind you HOW MUCH God loves you - Psalm 97:10 "For great is Your love, reaching to the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the skies."

God wishes for us to succeed in every area of your lives, and when we show our faith in Him, we are guaranteed the victory! (3 John, verse 2). Allow God to lead your way, and He will do the most amazing things and every need will be met!

I would like to share this story with you about remaining focused on what God wants us to do. We need to regularly ask ourselves, "How high am I aiming?"

As I read it, I was reminded of a quotation by Harry S. Truman. I quote him: "I studied the lives of great men and famous women, and I found that the men and women who got to the top were those who did the jobs they had in hand, with everything they had, and with energy and enthusiasm."

There once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat. He had an old shotgun and three bullets. So, he decided that he would go out hunting and kill something to eat for dinner. As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit and he shot at the rabbit and missed it. Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot at the squirrel and missed it. As he went further, he saw a wild turkey in the tree and he had only one bullet left, but a voice came to him and said "Pray first, aim high and stay focused." However, at the same time he saw a deer, which was a better kill. He brought the gun down and aimed at the deer. But then he saw a rattlesnake between his legs about to bite him so he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the rattlesnake. Still, the voice said again, "Pray, aim high and stay focused". So the man decided to follow the voice. The bullet bounced off the turkey and killed the deer. The handle fell off the gun and hit the snake in the head and killed it. And when the gun had gone off, it knocked him into a pond of water. When he got up to look around, he had fish in all his pockets, a dead deer and turkey to eat for his family. The snake (e.g. Satan) was dead simply because the man listened to God: Pray first, Aim High and Stay Focused.

The bottom-line of this story:

Pray first before you do anything important, aim and shoot high in your goals, and stay focused on God and you will come forth successful.

The Lord is always faithful to those who trust in Him and lean upon His wisdom for guidance and direction, but sadly many fall short because they trusted in their own wisdom and intellect and not the wisdom of God. The Bible declares in Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." What a privilege EHC Anglo Africa has as "servant ministry" to the worldwide Body of Christ! We praise God for the encouraging people across our region and beyond our borders, who continue to join hands with us, and pray for us!

We rejoice in the fact that we are "making a difference" in people's lives across our continent, and thousands of lost souls are seeing the salvation of God through our bold witness and carefully planned effective evangelism strategy. With God's anointing and His power, we are impacting our region for God. When we walk in obedience, we are promised blessings in abundance "pressed down, shaken together and running over!" My friend, enjoy His blessings for your life - in Jesus' Name!
